The BioRen system has been successful since 2013 and it has been installed on dozens of ships, accumulating millions of hours of use without any incidents.
The BioRen prototype equipment was successfully installed on the hull, which was coated with a regular painting scheme during the last dry docking. This installation took place at the EAS shipyard in November 2023.
It kept the hull clean/free of fouling even without antifouling paint.
